What exactly is meant by a nutritional approach with a raw vegan focus?
Our main intention is to provide nutritional solutions for a healthy life without disease. To do this, it’s important to have a diet as nutritious as possible and to leave out the things that disrupt our bodies in their quest for balance and health. It’s all about nourishing the body as well as possible and keeping the metabolism as pure as possible.
To achieve this, we follow the message of the Greek physician Hippocrates to “Let your food be your medicine” and teach a largely plant-based diet with a high proportion of fresh foods, supplemented with sprouts, microgreens and wild plants for an optimal nutrient supply.
We don’t recommend that a 100% raw food diet is universally the best diet, as we adopt a holistic approach to each individual and also consider their life situation.
Examples of different life situations:
- A client has a family with children to feed, and a harmonious family table is more important than a perfectly practiced raw vegan diet.
- A client is looking for a practical health path together with their partner, but the partner is currently still very happy eating cooked and processed food.
- A client is working full time and wants to integrate optimal nutrition into their fast-paced everyday life and has little time.
- A client has been eating a plant-based diet for a long time and would like to optimize their vegan diet.
- A client has suffered a serious disease and their focus is on detoxification and healing.
It’s important to consider the individual’s life situation during the consultation, as the change in diet should feel easy and enjoyable for the client. If the dietary recommendations create stress and tension, they cannot enable optimal health.
Accordingly, a change in diet can range from taking the first steps towards a plant-based diet and eating one salad a day to a very advanced, very clean and moisturizing raw vegan diet that is low in fat and salt.

Our nutrition experts include Dr. Robert Morse, Dr. Brian Clement, Dr. Gabriel Cousens, Dr. John Switzer, Anthony William and Dr. Douglas Graham. They represent different directions within the raw vegan community. What’s the right approach and what direction does the Your Nutrition Academy teach within the raw vegan diet?
Dr. Brian Clement
Raw vegan diet with lots of sprouts and microgreens – no fruit!
Dr. Doulas Graham
80/10/10 high-carb diet, which corresponds to a fruit-heavy diet
Dr. Gabriel Cousens
Raw vegan diet incorporating Ayurvedic teachings and the 3 Dosha types
Dr. Switzer
Plant-based, high proportion of raw food and wild herbs
Dr. Robert Morse
High proportion of fruit, supplemented with vegetables and herbs
Anthony William
Plant-based diet, by avoid no-foods such as eggs, dairy products and sugar

Which approach to nutrition is the best?
The question naturally arises as to which of the approaches described is the best or most suitable, or which approach we represent.
We greatly appreciate the nutritional approach from each of the pioneers and have therefore explored what their recommendations have in common. Because we believe that this commonality is the key to their positive impact on health.
The aspects in common are:
- Plant-based with a high raw food content
- Low in protein and fat
All experts advocate a plant-based diet with a high proportion of raw food, low protein and low fat.
Effects of a high-protein and high-fat diet
- A high-protein diet has an acidifying effect and promotes deposits in the blood vessels and connective tissue.
- A high-fat diet slows down metabolism, detoxification and elimination processes and increases the risk of disease.
The big difference is whether or not you should eat fruit. Here’s our take:
Fruits are very healthy. They promote detoxification because they …
🍉 have a high water content
🍊 are rich in nutrients
🍇 have a strong energizing effect
Nevertheless, anyone practicing a fruit-heavy diet should consider the following:
- Almost all fruits today are over-cultivated and contain more sugar than a few decades ago and much more than wild fruits.
- Minerals and bitter substances in the form of leafy greens should also be included in the diet.
- A high-fruit diet should be combined with a low-fat consumption, as fats interfere with the digestion of fruit.
- A diet rich in fruit is very heavy in glucose and fructose and should therefore be combined with plenty of movement and exercise.
As a consequence, we prefer a plant-based diet with a high raw food content, low in protein and fat, rich in minerals, antioxidants and phytonutrients. This diet is alkalizing, low in mucus, nutrient-rich and hydrating.
We focus on:
- Vegetables, leafy greens and fruits
- Sprouts, microgreens, algae and wild plants
- Freshly squeezed vegetable and fruit juices
