What is blue spirulina?
Also known as phycocyanin, blue spirulina is a highly purified plant pigment derived from green spirulina algae. Unlike regular spirulina, it contains no chlorophyll—meaning it doesn’t have the typical green color or earthy “algae” flavor.
Bright blue, pleasantly mild
Instead, blue spirulina impresses with its vibrant, luminous blue color and neutral taste. It’s perfect for sweet recipes like chia puddings, smoothies, or energy balls—without overpowering other ingredients. Ideal for anyone who loves visually bold but subtly flavored superfoods.
Antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, cell-protective
And it’s more than just an eye-catcher: phycocyanin is known for its anti-inflammatory, cell-protective, and immune-supporting properties. It supports detoxification, neutralizes free radicals, and delivers valuable phytonutrients. Combined with chia seeds, this turns into a true nutrient powerhouse.
