Raw food wraps are nutrient-dense, extremely family-friendly and great for quick meals. Everyone can design their own wrap according to their taste preferences.
These wraps were inspired by Mexican cuisine, where they’re prepared with a tortilla made of cornmeal. In raw food cuisine, wraps can be rolled in a few different ways.
- Vegetable tortillas
- Nori leaves
- Cabbage or lettuce leaves
We’ll start with vegetable wraps
Vegetable wraps are great to make in advance. When needed, simply top the thin patties with finely chopped vegetables and lettuce, dip and wrap.

Lettuce or cabbage leaves can be used instead of vegetable tortillas.
INGREDIENTS FOR 4 WRAPS
- 4 large cabbage leaves of white, red or pointed cabbage
Carefully remove the cabbage leaves from the head and cut away the thick lower part of the stalk.
Add your favorite ingredients to your cabbage leaf. Highlights are sprouts, patties and various dips (see chutney and tahini dip).
NORI LEAF WRAPS
Another variation is to use nori leaves. They’re usually roasted, but also available in raw quality.
Nori leaves can be topped colorfully, as seen in the picture below, or can also be filled like a sushi roll with cauliflower rice.
