These Raw Poppy Seed and Apple Rolls are healthy treats. The combinations of apple/cinnamon and poppy seed/banana both taste delicious and both are very easy to prepare.
RAW POPPY SEED AND APPLE ROLLS
for 2 rolls of 10 pieces
- 1 cup almonds
- 1 cup tiger nut flour
- ½ cup flaxseed
- 1 tablespoon date syrup
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- ½ cup water
Grind almonds and flaxseed into a flour in a blender. Put remaining ingredients in a bowl, knead with your hands to form a smooth dough and divide in two. Use a rolling pin to roll out the dough into two sheets.
- 2 peeled apples
- 1 grated apple
- ½ cup raisins
- 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Process all ingredients, except for grated apple, in a food processor or blender to make applesauce. Stir in the grated apple by hand. Place filling on the prepared dough and roll up carefully. If the mixture is too runny, fold in a teaspoon of psyllium husks.
POPPY SEED FILLING
- 1 cup poppy seeds
- 1 banana
- ½ cup raisins
- 50g ground almonds
Process all ingredients in a food processor or blender to an consistent mixture, spread evenly on the prepared dough and carefully roll up.
Cut the rolls (approx. 9inch or 25cm long x 2inch or 5cm wide) into approx. 1 inch x 2cm thick pieces and dry in dehydrator for 2-3 hours.
Ground up shredded coconut can be used as a “powdered sugar” topping.
